LBEP, like many other Combined Heat and Power or Energy from Waste facilities, will use Refuse Derived Fuel to generate the heat and power.
RDF is a fuel stock made from sorted and processed domestic and commercial waste. The waste is sorted and all safely combustible materials are dried, shredded and then pressed into pellets or bales for use as fuel. These pellets (shown below) and bales provide a low-odour, high combustion fuel source.
